Conditions of participation for speakers

You (hereinafter referred to as “Speaker”) have agreed to participate in the DeafIT Conference as a Speaker. The DeafIT Conference is organized and presented by the DeafIT Team under the auspices of the Deaf Association Munich and Surrounding Area e.V. (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”):

• As a Speaker, you transfer to the Organizer the unrestricted right to the following:
  1. Name, image, audio recording, speaker’s presentation as well as the name and logo of the speaker’s company and information regarding the company to be used for marketing and promotion in connection with the conference.
  2. To publish handouts or other printed or electronic materials used or issued by the Speaker in the presentation, even in edited form, as part of the program materials.
  3. To use, market, publish, display and issue the presentation and materials (audio / video) used in the presentation to the conference participants.
• The Speaker warrants to the Organizer that the contents of his/her presentation and materials provided are true and do not disclose confidential information or in any way infringe the rights of a third party.
• This declaration of consent also applies to employees/colleagues/legal representatives of the Speaker and will be enforced in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, even if they conflict with the laws from the Speaker’s country of origin.
• The Speaker has no claim against the organizer for reimbursement of any liabilities or expenses (including legal fees) incurred as a result of the Speaker’s failure to comply with the Declaration of Consent.
• Your participation in the conference is an important contribution and is instrumental to the success of the event. Attendees and potential attendees rely on the promotional materials announcing your participation. You agree that you will cancel your participation only if external circumstances beyond your control prevent you from attending.
  If you have to cancel your participation for any of the above reasons, please inform the organizer immediately. It is helpful if you suggest another speaker with the same experience and comparable position, but the conference organizers reserve the right to make the final decision on the replacement speaker.
  Under no circumstances should a substitute speaker be sent without consultation.
• The organizer reserves the right to cancel the conference, change the dates, venue and conference program, with the consequence of cancellation of the speaker’s participation or change of the date / time of his participation. In case of cancellation, the organizer is not liable for expenses of the speaker.
• Detailed briefings on timing, content and logistical details will be provided by the organizer 4-6 weeks before the conference.
  It is essential that you coordinate with the moderator and co-speaker of your session in advance to avoid redundancies

For active participation in the conference program, the speaker will receive the conference package with the following content:

• Free access to the entire conference
• Lunch, break snacks and drinks
• Free accommodation in a single room for one night including breakfast at the conference hotel where the DeafIT conference takes place

The package is not transferable. Please note that the organizer will not pay any expense allowances and will not cover travel and additional accommodation costs.
